A Control Panel is a web-based user interface via which you can control various aspects of your world-wide web presence. For example, you could create or change site files, create and check email messages, handle databases, check visitor stats and so forth. These things are done using buttons and menus within a browser and the Control Panel could also be called ‘back office’, i.e. the administrative area associated with your web hosting account. Most of the Control Panels on the market will allow you to handle all hosting-related matters, but you'll commonly need a different system to manage payments or to get a new domain name if the company offers domain registrations. With respect to the platform they employ, you may be able to use the billing account to open a support ticket to ask a question or to resolve a problem also, or you may need to use a third system.
